One thing Mosfet ignored to comment, though, is the commonly
stated fact that fewer options often means fewer bugs. Making
too many things configurable, may introduce complexity not
only in the UI but also in the code. It can quickly become
unrealistic to test all combinations of settings as they
increase in number.
