Hi
It's great to see serious work being done on free software usability.
I have a comment though about keyboard shortcuts.
Your HIG says:
"Do not assign awkward reaches to frequently performed keyboard
operations. Some people may only be able to use one hand on the keyboard,
so shortcuts that can be easily used with one hand are preferable for
common operations. In any case, having to frequently perform long or
difficult reaches on the keyboard can increase muscle strain for all
users, increasing the risk of pain or injury."
The two most common keyboard actions for me when using a web browser are
Reload and Back. The standard GNOME shortcuts for these are Ctrl-R and
Alt-Left. Both are difficult to find quickly with the fingers, with
Alt-Left being particularly awkward and hard on the hand.
I would suggest adding single key shortcuts for these common actions that
are easier to find with the fingers. The Windows shortcuts (F5 and
Backspace) are good, but others can be found.
Cheers,
Matthew.
