[Usability]Rethinking Home Folders (A Perspective Personal Vision)

Hello,
I don't know if this is the right place to propose my point of view regarding home user filesystem hierarchy.

Nowadays I reformatted the home/someuser folder hierarchy in a Gnome 2.x environment to accomodate home working desktop users that doesn't know anything about computer.

This is my first proposal that I've already implemented into 6 desktop workstation for Office users.
The users are working well everyday.They come directly from 4 years of : Win 98 -> Win XP desktop experience.
To accomodate this solution I've used a RedHat8.0, but you know that will be the same with every distro.

/home
	|
	|->usernamePippo
		|
		|->Desktop
		|->Documents
			|->Shared (it's a link to /home/Shared/usernamePippo/Documents)
 		|->Pictures
			|->Shared
			|->ScannedImages (Now It's a Link to kooka default storage folder)
		|->Downloads
			|->Shared
		|->Multimedia
			|->Shared
			|->Audio
				|->Shared
			|->Video
				|->Shared
		|->Works
			|->Shared
		|->System
			|->LocalApplications

Every Shared folder rapresent a link to the
home->Shared->usernameX->Documents
					   ->Pictures
...and so on really Samba shared resources well organized in a consistent manner.

/home
	|
	|->Shared
		|->usernamePippo
			|->Documents
			|->Pictures
			|->Downloads
			|->Multimedia
				|->Audio
				|->Video
			|->Works

		|->usernameTopolino
			|->Documents
			|->Pictures
			|->Downloads
			|->Multimedia
				|->Audio
				|->Video
			|->Works

So that in a windows network you can se something like:

smb://Workstation1/Shared/usernamePippo:
Documents
Pictures
Downloads
Multimedia (Audio,Video)
Works

(Very Mac closed vision...but deeply usable)

So that you provide one way to share your resource without force to understand what <<network resource sharing>> means.

I've tried to learn thinking about simplicity and one way to do thinks.
I think that is necessary to include:Documents,Pictures,Downloads,Multimedia(Audio,Video),Works,System folders to accomodate immediatly necessity from the user to understand where are resources without learning again the wheel.Image users coming from OS X or WinXP.

Why don't include as default structure and configuration into Gnome sessions (KDE too or GnuSTEP...).

System folders permit to storage local little applications (like little games, tryals, and SW closely related to that user).

Hope to help us to go to the right way,

bye,
