is there a way by which to prevent tracker from reindexing gnome

Hmm, Tracker is indexing "activities overview" ?
So, I understand *where* you mean by "activities overview", but I don't
know what it is you think we're indexing or doing from that.
I know Tracker can be used (depending on extensions and GNOME version)
to search for content there, but what content is it that we're actively
*re-indexing* ?
The only thing related, I can think of, is the .desktop files or
"Applications". I shouldn't think we're indexing those continuously on
search from the activities overview.
Perhaps I am missing something, but I don't really know how to help you
without more detail :)
Thanks,
