Hi Philip, :)

Hi :)

I'm thinking Carlos or Martyn. Letting somebody like Adrien or
Roberto talk about how it feels like contributing nice features
to Tracker is also ok for me.

I personally don't know if I will be going and it's looking
unlikely right now (mainly due to vacation I have at the time).

Too bad :(

I'll put my hopes on Carlos then.

A quick glance at the feature branches since passive-extraction
gives us this really awesome list of features having been worked
on the last six months:

This list of feature branches reminds me. I would like to merge
the external-crawler branch to get an unstable release out before
the stable releases hit us mid August. Any chance you have time for
review Philip? I don't want to merge without any review and I think
Carlos is a bit loaded right now.

I can certainly give some review or tips or help towards a
presentation on any of the content/feature branches if that helps.

I will try to find time for this in August. Normally yes.

Perhaps it's good to let somebody else do a full own
presentation this year? How about that external-crawler stuff?
Maybe the crash-aware-extractor.

I don't know if Carlos will have time or be going, but I think it
would be good to get some round up or summary of what's been going
on more generally for whoever presents at FOSDEM.

I very much agree

I remember that Carlos did the presentation together with me and
that Carlos showed the passive-extraction work. If nobody
sacrifices himself (all code-feature contributors are guys this
year), then like last year I can start the presentation and let
the top contributor of last few months show the latest stuff
happening in the project. I really hope to get at least one
volunteer :-)!

I will happily help you out Philip!

Ok. It would indeed be fantastic if for the external-crawler work you
could make some slides and/or short explanation (plus more lengthy
explanation). The latter would actually also be very nice to have
before I do the review in August.

I can normally distillate a presentation out of such a explanation and
it makes the reviewing process more easy.

I could also and the end talk about crazy ideas that we have. We
talked about companies using Tracker last year. Maybe we can
mention new companies already? Perhaps if they agree, we should?
- first ask this

It would be interesting to hear those but also what people think
of Tracker and what they would like fixed as a priority?

Correct.

ps. Jolla work on Tracker resumes in August. That means I will
be fixing bugs and working on certain features in the coming
weekends.

Cool!

yw. You know I work hard to keep the commercial side of the Tracker
project on the tracks, right? :-)

Kind regards,

Philip
