Hi Carlos,
I fear you've been looking in the wrong direction, Tracker does
implement Evolution email indexing as an evolution plugin, it must be
compiled (distros don't usually do though) and activated under the
Edit/Plugins menu option in evolution.
Hum... Don't find this on my system Debian/sid. Looking around it seems
that this plugin was supported at some point. Same for Ubuntu BTW. The
package was named tracker-miner-evolution.
Any idea? Am I the only one in this case?
It was supported, see:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/tracker/tree/src/plugins/evolution
However, upstream changed their APIs and it's not been updated since. At
the time I was talking to M. Barnes (who was working on the new APIs) to
get things working, but the GOA (IIRC) APIs were not working and fairly
new then so I couldn't progress. I've not picked this up since.
We would welcome any newcomers looking to take this on!
NOTE: I started a branch here, but it is by no means complete and may
not be working:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/tracker/log/?h=evo-new-api
hope this helps,
