Re: [Tracker] Controlling tracker priority and settings on tracked files

Thanks Martyn. We are in the process of moving the complete tree to a new release SDK, which will allow us to
control the versions we want to use more closely. Unfortunately at the moment, the SDK provider has forced us
on this version. It is good to know moving forward there are more improvements and options :)

Thanks.

Hi Martyn,

Hello Richard,

Thanks for the answers.

What version are you using?
Tracker 0.10.35

O.10.x is quite old.

I will need to dig into the application a bit to see if the store is
being accessed by our app. I don't see it in the 'top' list so it did
appear on the surface as doing anything with tracker.

I could not find documentation on the tracker extract-rule mentioned
below. Can you perhaps provide a link?

Sadly a lot of the performance improvements and things I mentioned in my
response are only available in 0.14.x.

I would highly suggest you upgrade if you can to take advantage of these
improvements.

As for a link, I don't think there is any help available currently. IT's
quite straight forward though, the rules files are processed in order
(like /etc/init.d/ files IIRC) and explain which mime types can be
handled by which modules. By omitting those from installations, you can
control which extracts are used and which are not.
