Hello,

Hello,

the other night, after installing tracker 0.9.5. from this repository:
ppa:tracker-team/tracker-unstable

We should really update that repository.

https://launchpad.net/~tracker-team/+archive/tracker-unstable
under Bodhi Linux (Ubuntu-based, with Enlightenment desktop environment),
I thought I had reached a new stage in my quest for type-and-find
availability of my work materials,
when I noticed there was a beautiful new entry to the context menu
when right-clicking .pdfs, dubbed simply "Tags".
This led me to a dialog for entering new, and, oh joy! choosing from
existing tags, and even removing the ones I don't want!

:)

I started happily tagging away at my database, only to run into a bad
surprise today:
"Tags" is just gone, no more extra line in the context menu, as gone
are the tags i already created!
Could anyone please help me get it back?

Presumably you mean they disappeared from the upgrade?

IF so, what version did you have installed before?

I suspect it was created by Tracker, which i have now up and running,
can aynone confirm this?

Yes, Tracker would have kept information about all of those tags.

If yes, is there another way to acces and edit the tags?

Yes, tracker-tag --help is a non-UI way to approach tagging. Though if you don't see them in nautilus file manager, I suspect they've been lost by the upgrade. This depends on the version you upgraded from.

Is the context menu created in the desktop environment
(Enlightenment)? Or in the File manager application?

Nautilus, the file manager. It's a plugin I/we wrote.

However, it's really weird that now it's there and then it's gone,
because I'm pretty sure I haven't changed anything at all in the
meantime...

Well, the upgrade may be the main reason here.

  Any ideas?
Thanks a lot for any pointers, Ben

No problem.
