I sounds to me like a problem in your glib yes, but I'd be totally
unable to say if "file" and gio use different databases. Let's hope
someone with more insight replies to this thread :p
'file' has its own database while gio uses shared-mime-info. Either
shared-mime-info installation is broken on your system or maybe ELF
detection is architecture specific and the corresponding entry for MIPS
hasn't been added to shared-mime-info yet.
BTW: I'd like to encourage you to fix the issues with modern GLib
versions instead of using old beta versions of Tracker.
