Hi,
I followed your advice and after reindex I do have numbers! Thanks!
However, I have some text files from windows users encoded with ISO-8859-15 and tracker does not seem to index these. If I save them in utf-8 it works.
can this functionality be added somehow?
cheers,
bjorn

Sorry, I followed outdated information.
tracker-needle seem to work just fine.
and it is FAST!
The nautilus integration seem to work fine as well.
Is it possible to index numbers? I woild like to find numbers in
documents (like 34567).
I do not seem to get any, i can search for words like a60100 though.
By default they're not indexed. You can change the config value and reindex your content easily enough. Depending on the version it's either in GSettings or ~/.config/tracker/tracker-fts.cfg.
This may help for quick info on how to get/set with either GSettings or the older configuration system:
https://live.gnome.org/Tracker/Documentation/Debugging
For GSettings, you can also use dconf-editor.
The key you want for GSettings is:
$ gsettings set org.freedesktop.Tracker.FTS ignore-numbers "false"
or
$ gsettings set org.freedesktop.Tracker.FTS ignore-numbers "true"
The key you want for the older configuration is:
$HOME/.config/tracker/tracker-fts.cfg
IgnoreNumbers=False
Any problems let us know,
