Hi,
I am running tracker on a server with many files to index, and I get the tracker-store daemon running at 100% CPU, the machine load is 1.00.
I couldn't find why sometimes the search wouldn't work, so I end up having the output of top on the system log every hour. And I found out why.
This server is running tracker 0.10.25. I can probably test the latest 0.10.x version.
What's interesting is that on my laptop, running Fedora 16 with the latest tracker from 0.12 branch (0.12.7 currently), I also sometimes found tracker-store consuming too much CPU, and manually either killed the process or terminated it using tracker-control.
Back on the server, here is the significant size of the various files managed by tracker:
5.0G /home/tracker/tracker/tracker-home/.cache/tracker/meta.db
240M /home/tracker/tracker/tracker-home/.cache/tracker/meta.db-wal
1.8M /home/tracker/tracker/tracker-home/.cache/tracker/meta.db-shm
344K /home/tracker/tracker/tracker-home/.cache/tracker/ontologies.gvdb
And I'm getting errors on the tracker-store.log, looking like:
Tracker-Warning **: database is locked (strerror of errno (not necessarily related): Resource temporarily unavailable)
Tracker-Warning **: database table is locked (strerror of errno (not necessarily related): Resource temporarily unavailable)
(attached, the full log)
Do you have any idea on how this could happen? Do you think the 0.12 branch is also affected?
Thanks a lot,
Mildred
