We do use paging kind of :)
The paging should be done better, right now we only get the first n results
(1000 I think). I need to change the way we draw the results so we only get
the ones we see initially and preload the others in the background. Will
take some effort though.
I was thinking of that too, as the most elegant solution, but I agree
on the effort part. I was curious if GTK+ actually makes it easy?
Actually, yes. I have done it before. What makes it hard or the "effort"
for me, is figuring out how to do it in Vala actually :)
* does not display results for PDF docs
What all PDF documents? Works fine here! Are you sure you have support
compiled for tracker-extract?
TST works fine. I'll test again in future.
OK.
Also, there is now a tracker-needle component in Bugzilla and I have rebased
against master tonight.
Will use that, thanks.
Thanks for the other fixes.
Oh, and I really miss Categories. Are you sure it's not the best idea
for Needle? There's a lotta times when I only wanna see PDF or HTML
results, for example.
Actually, I think it could be added without much work, question is where
and how. Perhaps using the file and icon views make sense with an
"ALL|PDF|Folders|Music|..." combo box.
The issue with PDF/HTML is they're specific mime types and right now we
show specific classes (like documents) which cover more than just PDF.
