If somebody is interested in doing a talk about tracker at fosdem's

Hi Phillip,

I am unable to make FOSDEM this year so I won't be able to do one. I
think it would be good to have someone do some short talk about Tracker
though if possible mostly to answer any questions and/or give feedback
about what is going on in the project for those that don't know.

So the real question is, are you volunteering? :P

I can do one, sure

No pressure really :)

If you want me to do one please send me an overview of the changes that
happened to the indexer, crawler, trackerd etc that you think are
important for mentioning. Bullet point format. I probably have a fairly
good idea of everything to come up with some content to talk about each
bullet point. If not, I'll ask.

If you _WANT_ to do it of course, I will come up with some points, but
really that stuff isn't so interesting, some basic idea of the
infrastructure should be enough. I think the documentation even has a
couple of diagrams showing this.

  http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/tracker/trunk/docs/design/

But really the most important issues to explain are the split and why it
was done. Including the new technology we use now, i.e. GIO for crawling
and the other modules which have newer external dependencies / updated
requirements.

The problem here is that we need to change the roles slightly of the
daemon and indexer so detailing them is probably not a good idea.

I think if you need some inspiration there is a list of changes which
Tshepang has been working on for the up and coming upstream release.
These are in the NEWS file I think.
