thanks - but i still think that needs fixing

Also your point (1) -  "tracker never seems to completely finish the
initial indexing run (the real show stopper for me) Each time I log out
and log in again (or restart trackerd), it starts reindexing
everything."

Is that still an issue? If so it would need to be investigated to see if
it can be fixed easily
