For #1, no one on the Tracker team has this issue as far as I am aware
and it looks to me like it is just an old machine problem and can be
improved using an appropriate throttle config setting. It certainly
shouldn't be impeding the release. Is there any actual proof of this
100% issue? Can the machine be profiled to show where the slow down is?
Without this information I don't think it is worth delaying. We have
delayed for a long time already.
Ok fine - what about recursive deletes? Can that be optimized quickly?
I spoke to TJ (TJ alexandros tjworld net) who is looking into some
Tracker issues with version 0.6.6. He says the cut off for Tracker
getting into the next Ubuntu is coming up soon (this month we think). We
should really consider getting this release out before then.
