Hi all,
I want to clean up the python scripts we have in Tracker. I think some
of them are completely unused and could be removed. So please shout if
you want something kept in the repository.
So this is what we have:
- applet
This was last updated in version 0.6.2 I think (from a quick glance
at the source). I will remove this if no one objects.
- deskbar-handler
This has two python scripts to support past and present Deskbar
integration methods. One is the "module" approach, the other is the
"handler" approach. AFAIK, the "handler" approach is much older and
should be dropped. The module approach can be fixed up at some point.
- FUSE
Is anyone using this? It still uses the old 0.6.x API. If no one
objects I will remove it.
- gtk-sparql
We know this is in use and quite popular by Ivan/others. This will
remain. I would like to move it to utils/ though. I don't think we
should have a directory titled "python" at all.
- music
This contains a script to retrieve lyrics for a given artist and
title. This is potentially quite useful but is anyone using it?
Again, I would like to move this to utils/
- nautilus
There is a tagging plugin here. This uses the old 0.6 API and I
believe there is another implementation in the works which looks
better suited to the job here:
http://git.gnome.org/cgit/tracker/log/?h=nautilus-extension
- rss_reader
This looks useful. Ivan, do you know what the plan is for this?
Perhaps this should be moved to utils/ also. Is this required in
Maemo?
- SearchTool
This is a Python QT application using the 0.6.x API. We can remove
this in my opinion. Thoughts?
Thanks all,

Martyn
