Re: [Tracker] tracker-0.6.94 indexing help

Since no one replied to this email, let me rephrase my questions.

It looks like the README file is not uptodated about running the trackerd. It still says /usr/bin/trackerd. I found that the new trackerd is under /usr/libexec/.

1. Do I have to add the /usr/libexec in my PATH since there are couple of other tracker tools?
2. How do I correctly launch the trackerd? Just by running /usr/libexec/trackerd? I already set up the "~/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg" file. It seems not indexing.
2. How about the tracker-applet? Do I need to start this separately?
3. The applet says the tracker is indexing (0 of 0) but no updates in the tracker-status at all.

Here is the verbosity msg and it keeps repeating:
Tracker-Message: Items could not be processed by the indexer, The name org.freedesktop.Tracker.Indexer was not provided by any .service files
Tracker-Message: <--- [53] DBus request to get daemon service stats
Tracker-Message: ---> [53] Success, no error given
Tracker-Message: Queue for module:'files' created items processed, sending first 1000 to the indexer
Tracker-Message: Items could not be processed by the indexer, The name org.freedesktop.Tracker.Indexer was not provided by any .service files
Tracker-Message: Queue for module:'files' created items processed, sending first 1000 to the indexer

The trackerd.log and it repeats the following:

28 Apr 2009, 03:17:47: Tracker: State change from 'Pending' --> 'Watching'

Hey the tracker community,

I built the new tracker-0.6.94. Thank you for all your hard work!
Let me ask you guys. I am a developer of a livecd. I used to use the 0.6.90.

What is the best way to start the new trackerd? I want to kick off the command by a script not by a gnome.

I see a couple of new binaries under /use/libexec/trackerxxx. Should I start the trackerd and tracker-applet like the old ways? Thanks in advance.

Jin
