No, strigi has XESAM support [1]. I imagine the reason they are pushing
strigi with KDE 4.0 is just that it is their own - they can directly
influence what new features to add / remove and when to do that (and
synchronise with their own release cycle).
AFAIK tracker doesn't yet have a KDE/Qt frontend (which is a pity).
There is a KIO slave for tracker [1], which works pretty well. The
nice thing is, you can use it from any KDE app thanks to the power of
KIO. I had made deb for it [2], some time ago.
Unfortunately, Andreas Eckstein, the kio-find upstream has been busy
with other stuff, so kio-find hasn't seen any updates for quite some
time.
