hey,
i'd like to know if tracker can find changes in the filesystem, which
happened while it wasn't running and then index or remove the created or
deleted files.
for example when i create a file in a watched dir and tracker wasn't
running. since tracker has a list of all files in those dirs, can or
does it see that this is a new file and will index the file?
i'm asking, because i had some folders and removed them while trackerd
wasn't running. couldn't tracker see that those folder doesn't exist
anymore when it's started, and remove it from the index? because those
folders where still found when i searched for them.
another thing is the nowatchdir option:
when i add a folder to the nowatchdirs, shouldn't tracker not list
anything which is in that folder anymore? i added a folder to the
nowatchdir after it was indexed, so tracker still has those files
indexed. i would think it would be better to remove anything which is in
nowatchdirs from the index when tracker is restarted or upon change (via
the tracker-preferences gui).
maybe i musunderstand some things, so i'd like to get some information
or opinions on these.
the first one should have been fixed but maybe I introduced a bug there
in my chnages - I will investigate this
the second one is on our todo list.
thx
jamie.
