        have you made sure in Evo to tell imap to store emails
        locally?
Yes it is imap. I will checck my setup later tonight.

I don't get applications in there. Just regular .desktop files, viewed
as plain old files. 
how weird - I suggest a clean build (delete all existing tracker stuff
first in ~/.cache and ~/.local/tracker) and all existing tracker libs
Also would be nice to have apps and chat logs available in deskbar but
sorting out your issues is more important
