I can confirm that specifying additional directories to watch - directories
that are not in my home directory - via tracker-preferences is preventing
these music/images from showing up in the results. If I type a command line
that is the equivalent of what I've specified in tracker-preferences,
everything works correctly.
Any additional debugging that I can provide to help track the issue or realize
that I'm doing something wrong at my end ?

When I forced tracker to index only the mp3 directory, it seems to work
fine. Without using the "-i" option, I've specified the mp3 directory as an
additional "watched" directory. Is that the problem ? I did see tracker
spit out some messages about working on some files in the mp3 folder when I
started trackerd without the "-i" option.

Hi Jamie,
I have gstreamer and gstreamer-fluendo-mp3 plugin installed. I can't
find any other program to install for gstreamer and mp3 for gstreamer
version 0.10. What do you use ?
Thanks,
I use what they call the gstreamer ugly plugin package as mp3 is
propriety and all propriety formats are in the ugly plugin package
