[Tracker] indexing issue in Tracker related to format of watch/nowatch lists in .cfg

A previous message  I sent a day or two ago seems to have disappeared in cybervoid.

Anyhow, my problem with  Tracker not indexing is solved...

The issue, I hate to say, was the absence of a semicolon in the watch/nowatch lists in the .cfg file - there must be a semicolon at the end of the list, too, it seems...


Once I followed Jamie's advice to delete all files in .Tracker, it all became clear. In order to delete, I backed up a copy of tracker.cfg. When I restarted trackerd, however, I had forgotten to move the original .cfg back... Tracker was indexing just fine. When I remembered and replaced the default .cfg with mine, Tracker stopped in its tracks. From there, it was easy to see that .cfg was the culprit, and to pinpoint the difference to the semicolon. As soon as the watch/nowatch lists in .cfg were given a semicolon, indexing started zipping by, to my great delight.

My mistake, BTW, was staring me in the face in my very first post...

Here are two relevant lines from my tracker.cfg file:
WatchDirectoryRoots=/home
NoWatchDirectory=/bin;/dev;/proc;/sbin;/vmlinuz

BTW, is there room to consider the format of the watch lists? A semicolon at the end is not proper English syntax. Furthermore, the nowatch list comes as follows in the default file:
NoWatchDirectory=
So there is no visual cue to the need for a semicolon (although, admittedly, other unset list variables do have a semicolon). Or does this mean that the nowatch list needn't end with a semicolon for some reason?
On the other hand, the semicolon may be a programming convention I'm not aware of.
Perhaps a loose format, allowing either a semicolon at the end of the line or its absence, would be best.
