[Tracker] problems with CVS

I've been having a couple of problems with tracker's cvs lately; a lot
of the DBus functions don't seem to work... for example Files.GetMTime
will hang, and Metadata.GetRegisteredTypes seems to crash Tracker (it
just quits, with no messages or segfaults or anything). I ran it under
gdb, and the crash seems to be nested deep within the DBus libs...
also, i'm running latest Ubuntu Edgy, so our packages might have bugs
