Also, I'm thinking about modifying QuodLibet to use tracker to search
for songs. I'm not sure   if it's a good idea, but it seems like it
would be WAY faster than its current pickling/unpickling of python
objects :-). Would this be the "right way" to do things? What if
applications just tagged objects as belonging to them? hmm, the
possibilities ;-) oh well, let me know if any of you are interested,
and/or what I can do to help you out.

Well tarcker is being designed as a common music database so yes it should be suitable to use it for any of that.

I believe Sri is working on a tracker plug-in for Rhythmbox
