Poppler 0.5.x is required by Tracker but perhaps it is possible to
downgrade the required version. I did not look at the old API from
Poppler 0.4.x.
Since PDF metadata extraction depends on Poppler, you cannot obtain
metadata without Poppler being installed...

So, two options:
1/ try to use old Poppler API from 0.4.x versions if it is possible;

Forgive me for not making it clear that I have libpoppler0c2-glib
(0.4.5) installed.

And it seems that debian packages are missing dependencies on SQlite3
and QDBM...

The installation didn't complain about the SQLite3, unless you mean
that you didn't put such dependencies on the debs...
