great but does any software need to be installed? That will be a problem
as its using gnmome.org for hosting.
if its in http://www.gnome.org/projects/ (which is in gnome cvs) then
you guys can send patches to edit stuff (just as if it was source code)
Cool...it would be great to get some accounts...yes, to install
wordpress we would just need access to a mysql server. I'm sure php
already is setup on the gnome.org/projects box(es).
How can I get a gnome.org CVS/shell account? It would be great to setup
a basic policy on this, like submit 1 or 2 patches, then get CVS commit
access and gnome.org account. This works amazingly well for Inkscape.org
development and really keeps the bandwidth of developers open. Cool?
yes but from http://live.gnome.org/NewAccounts:
"We do request that applicants have submitted a reasonable number of
patches to an existing maintainer, or bugzilla reports before they
request direct commit access."
Im not sure how many is reasonable but its probably more than one or two?
shall we say 3 big ones or 6 medium ones or 12 smallish/trivial ones
I think we should lower this and make it more reasonable until we get
more contributors. I think we should make it similar to how its setup in
inkscape.org. We should require 2 patches and then support an
application for access to CVS. This makes it simpler for wanna-be
contributors and also will require us to work with patch submitters to
meet the standard for the codebase.
This works super awesome for several of my projects and highly support
this...
(anybody who feels they already qualify and want cvs write access then
let me know)
I need to practice what I preach and submit 2 patches ;)
