yes by all means lets start with the org.freedesktop.indexer and find
the common bits.

the metadata stuff will be difficult especially as tracker's metadata
handling will be changing shortly to accomodate triple store
functionality and metadata relationships. I would punt on that for now
until things settle down.

Right, I mention that in the "manifest" too. The metadata storage service requires a fair deal more work than the indexer api. Still the indexer/search api must be flexible enough to accommadate/exploit/integrate-with future metadata services.
