Re: [Tracker] Question on search syntax

2006/5/23, Bjørn Haagensen <bhaagensen gmail com>:

Hi,

using tracker-search one can specify mimetype as an optional argument.
Is there any way to pass such a query through deskbar?

Not via deskbar - currently. This would not be that hard to add however. Patches are welcome ;-P It will be a while before I will have time for any major hacking on the deskbar tracker backend again...

Or is there any
other way of specifying which filetypes one is searching for? For
instance the beagle-handlers can be passed 'ext:pdf' for instance.

How does nautilus handle this? Since one can specify filetype in
nautilus using the tracker backend.

There is a special tracker method (read: dbus interface) for doing searches with mime restrictions. Nautilus just wraps this method.

Anyway I'm impressed by tracker,

Me too! Rock on Jamie!

Cheers,
Mikkel
