Becoming a freedesktop project?

Hi all,

I talked a while ago with Philip about moving to git.gnome.org. After
thinking a little bit more, I considered a more ambitious movement. What
about becoming a freedesktop project?

Although I'm a GNOME user and developer, I'd want tinymail to be widely
used not only by GNOME and GNOME-like environments (like Maemo) but
others as KDE for example.

We could present tinymail to the freedesktop guys as a X desktop email
framework.

What do you think?
