Would it be possible to run your software using valgrind and/or gdb and
reproduce the problem? This way we could try to get a stacktrace of the
double free or invalid pointer that you've seen.

gdb doesn't show anything useful, valgrind pukes on my shoes. I will go with making valgrind happy for now. I just wanted to check for any POP3 issues before going this path.
