RE: [Setup-tool-hackers] Where XST is going.

Hey all,

I just wanted to add a comment to this thread from one of the "very
small home made local distros". I help work on Malcom Linux
(http://lug.uh.edu for now). Malcom uses xst as the default system
configs. Since we are based on Mandrake some of the tools either work
right out of the box, or can be ported with little effort.

Thank you for writing the xst. One of our goals is to make a
distribution that will run on our families machines while we are off in
college. Simple gui tools to add things like shares on the local network
make our task much smaller.

Malcom has a small team 3 developers, and a small installed base
something around 10 computers (though more will be added at the next UH
Installfest).

What is the best way for malcom to use xst? Should we submit patches to
the tool backends that add support for malcom? Should we simply maintain
our patchs/rpms in our own tree?

Best regards,

Nate Custer
