OK, if you look at the .diff, there was a hard-coded path, to root-manager
in root-manager/root-manager.h:
#define UH_PATH "/gnome/sbin/root-manager"

Before I made it SUID root, I got an error telling me to do so, the PAM errors
happened after I set the SUID bit, and happened no matter what user i ran it as,
root or no.
