Arrr,
I was asked to upload my quick and dirty mockups to the wiki ASAP, so I added them to:

(I'm sparing you the very messy hand-drawn sketches that came before that!)
This should give you an idea of the kind of UI I have in mind... as for the gory implementation/interaction details, I guess that's what the hackfest is for :)
