login keychain, is it safe?

Hello Seahorse community!

I have a rather noob question. Is it safe to use /login/ key chain to
store passwords of various applications? This keychain is unlocked when
I log to my Gnome desktop, is it encrypted on disk the same way as
/default /or any other key chain? Where are the actual passwords saved
(I want to check how they look on disk) ?

If you can point me to some basic information on how Seahorse works,
please do so.
