Hello sorry if this has been asked before, I have query with regard to pam_tally and gnome-screensaver. if pam_tally is set in system-auth on fedora, gnome screensaver is not able to unlock the screen. Reason being, pam_tally needs root privileges to write to "/var/log/faillog" and gnome-screensaver-dialog runs as a regular user. Is there a workaround this other than setuid root for gnome-screensaver-dialog ( which i have not tested ) ? tia. for self reference: GnomeScreensaver faq - Why does the screensaver unlock dialog always think my password is invalid ? http://live.gnome.org/GnomeScreensaver/FrequentlyAskedQuestions#head-b341212ad28dcfa19c1022ff043899eb77b4aa4b xscreensaver vs gnome-screensaver http://mail.gnome.org/archives/screensaver-list/2006-February/msg00000.html -- Ritesh Khadgaray ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ LinuX N Stuff Ph: +919970164885 Eat Right, Exercise, Die Anyway.
