Hi,
Following up from this discussion:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/screensaver-list/2005-November/msg00003.html
I think we've agreed to move the power management stuff into
gnome-power-manager.
I agree :-)
This could help GNOME to provide a coherent power manager preferences
tool like
System
[x] Enable system sleep when inactive for a period
System inactivity period: --------[==]-------------------
5m 15m 30m 1h 3h
Monitor
[x] Enable monitor sleep when inactive for a period
Monitor inactivity period: --------[==]-------------------
5m 15m 30m 1h 3h
Luca,
Something like that is already in gnome power preferences.
Oh, it seems that on my system[1] the display slider don't appear :-(
[1] well, in my GNOME HEAD test install using jhbuild to be honest
You have to have gnome screensaver running and dpms has to be enabled
Snippet from gpm-prefs.c
gboolean can_display_sleep;
if (gpm_screensaver_is_running ()) {
can_display_sleep = gconf_client_get_bool (client,
GS_PREF_DPMS_ENABLED, NULL);
} else {
can_display_sleep = FALSE;
}
