apps-menu.jl ...

You should provide a tarball containing your .desktop files 
(/usr/share/applications/*.desktop and probably 
$HOME/.local/share/applications/*.desktop), so that we or Matthew can debug it

For now, you can revert to old apps-menu using:

git revert 9aea360b179f90d609159f3bdaaa70502778dea0
