It means read, eval, print, maybe Fedora could use read-eval-print. ;]
It was fine with rep in RH times, with rpms named like librep,
rep-gtk, rep-gtk-libglade, librep-devel or rep-gtk-gnome, and commands
like rep or rep-remote. Other distros, when having collisions, just
rename locally and rep does not seem to be a problem currently in
those other distros (Debian has ack, Kanji code converter, and
ack-grep, specialized grepper, while originally both are ack). Was rep
name taken over by something else in the meantime it was dropped from
RH/FC?
