I'm runnig Debian where having a package is a way, so I used gmrun and
sawfish keybinding like this

  (defvar my-menu '(... ("Run command" (system "exec gmrun &") ...)))
  (bind-keys global-keymap "Button3-Click1" '(popup-menu my-menu))
