[sabayon] Slow Links and Profile Size

Hi there.

As I could notice everytime the user logs it try to fetch (and fetch?) the profile on my server. Did sabayon has any protection to download only if file on server is newer than the local file? Or different size? Or both? What about md5sums to check this? 

This problem, take us to the second issue:

I have noticed that profile sizes are huge. They has 1MB or more, if I unzip it and BZIP them it takes 15 times less space. I could notice too that there is a lot of "versions" of same file. This is a feature or a bug? Why use zip, not BZ or GZ? If I unzip and rezip it without all those versionings it will work? I have to fetch them using a 256kbps link, it takes more than 1 minute to fetch just one file. Imagine with concurrent users.

As a said I have right not 100 gnome computers being managed with sabayon and I REALLY want sabayon working fine. It's a good enviroment to test new features and to put sabayon in a real scenario. All help will be very welcome. Im here to help. Right now I dont have time to code, and my knowledge with Python and OO is low.

By the way im using ubuntu feisty sabayon version 2.18.1
