So let me check your setup:

 - You're using Rygel as a renderer
 - You're using Twonky as your server
 - On the device that Rygel is running on, GStreamer is able to decode
AAC

Questions:
 - Does file-playback work when you use playbin2 instead of that
handcrafted pipeline?
 - What are you using to tell Rygel to play-back media from twonky?
 - Which process exactly says that the file is not supported?
 - What is the mime-type of the audio file in twonkey?

The controlling instance should check if the mime type the server
announces for the file and the capabilities the renderer announces are
compatible, maybe this check is failing here.
