converting container formats

Hi,

Rygel supports transcoding, but what about just converting between container formats, like FLV to AVI or MKV? This will help with renderer compatibility without actually transcoding the stream between codecs. And in general, would there be some easy way for people to specify such transcodings/conversions using GStreamer pipelines without having to extend RygelTranscoder? I apologize for not being very familiar with GStreamer.

As an aside, if Rygel gets an HTTP URL, from say a DBus provider, and that URL requires cookies to access, would there be any feasible way of giving those cookies to Rygel?
