Hey guys,
some time ago we have developed a Rhythmbox plugin which sends events to
Zeitgeist when you listen to something. We have been testing the plugin for
quite some time, and we would love if it was included upstream. I was
looking at [1] to find some information about plugin inclusion and its
criteria, but didn't find anything. Therefore I'm asking here what is
necessary for the inclusion.
I guess we haven't documented that anywhere.. probably because we've
never really decided on a process.
Anyway, some basic criteria for inclusion are:
- acceptable license (compatible with GPL+exception)
- acceptable code quality
- won't get us sued, doesn't violate anyone's terms of service too badly
- does something useful or interesting
Please file a bug in GNOME bugzilla requesting inclusion of your
plugin. You certainly won't have any problems with the last two
criteria, and the first two shouldn't be too hard either.
