Rhythmbox uses the GStreamer multimedia framework to play back audio
files. To play WMA files, you will need to install two packages:
'gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly' and 'gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg'. Both are
available from the 'universe' component of the Ubuntu software repository.

Note that if your WMA files are 'protected' by DRM (copy protection) then
you'll need to decrypt them somehow before GStreamer will be able to play
them.
