Thanks! I wasn't looking forward to going through all of that.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help here. I know my
patch summaries aren't very descriptive, so I might need to clarify some
things.

OK. I think only patches 5, 6, 9, and 10 on my --playbin branch are
interesting. These obsolete patches 1 and 3, and patch 2 was just
included to make it build. I still haven't done anything about getting
iradio metadata out of playbin, so patch 4 is useless. The generic
audio converter (patches 7 and 8) isn't being used by anything yet, so
it might as well be skipped.
I'll work on extracting the interesting bits out of my --remote
branch. I don't think there's much point merging the D-BUS remote
interface in yet, as the GLib bindings haven't settled down.
