IMHO, only with the addition of an (optional) Track section in the
Browser.

Watching myself and my SO work in Rb and iTunes, I see that I tend to
use the Browser to navigate as far as possible and then grab a track and
add it to my playlist/Party Shuffle. She, on the other hand, doesn't
care for the Browser at all and simply scrolls up and down in the
Library until she sees what she wants and then interacts with that
track. She has the option of closing the Browser to save her screen
real estate -- and usually does. Right now, I don't have a parallel
option.

When I'm simply adding tracks, I don't need anything about the Library
-- except the ability to grab that track name. So, by adding an
optional Track section in the Browser, I can then close up the Library
when I'm managing playlists (or our putative Jukebox) and save my screen
real estate. I only need turn the browser on when I want to see the
additional information that the Library listing provides, or (right now)
when I want to rate a track.

Make sense?

In fact, perhaps the showing/hiding of what we've been calling the
Library (but what is, really, just an Track Information area) should be
not be controlled with disclosure triangles. Instead, it is
automatically hidden when the Track Browser section is turned on and
automatically shown when the Track Browser section is turned off.

Dan - go ahead and send me the screen shots.
If anyone else needs space for hosting UI prototypes for Rb, I'll be
happy to do so. Please mark your subject line clearly -- I get a lot of
spam & I don't want to trash your email accidently.
