[Rhythmbox-devel] 0.8.4 still can't import m4a files

There was a short thread on this a few weeks ago, however, even after
the 0.8.4 release I still can't import m4a files into RB.

I get a "There is no plugin to handle a MPEG-4 file ...." error.  

I also tried the
 
gst-launch-0.8 -t filesrc
location=/home/jorussel/Music/tunes/Blues/Eric\ Clapton/From\ The\
Cradle/Eric\ Clapton\ 01\ -\ Blues\ Before\ Sunrise.m4a ! typefind !
spider ! application/x-gst-tags ! fakesink

suggestion from the last thread, although I'm not sure what it was
supposed to do.  Is there something special I have to do?

gst-register-0.8 | grep faad shows this

beethoven:...tunes/Blues/> gst-register-0.8 | grep faad
added plugin faad with 1 feature(s)
