[Rhythmbox-devel] rb help needed: the sound of silence

Hi there,

I'm having trouble getting Rhythmbox to play audio. Tracks play okay,
everything appears to be proceeding in order, but I get no sound!

Running rhythmbox from the command line produces the following output:

I'm using rb 0.6.4 on a very recently updated Debian unstable system,
linux kernel 2.6.1, using Alsa drivers for a Creative Vibra Live sound
card. I've configured gstreamer to use alsasink as its audio sink. Totem
and gnome-cd both play okay, but I've noticed that gstreamer-properties
produces the same error that rb does when testing, and similarly does
not produce any sound

Apologies if this isn't a rhythmbox issue but it would be lovely to be
able to resolve this issue :).
