[Rhythmbox-devel] visual plugins ?

have you seen

I was thinking it should  be possible to do exactly the same api as seen on macos (the doc above is for windows) for rhythembox, so that plugins could be shared accross itunes and rhythmbox....

but this could be done with gstreamer right I mean just split the output and have an effect process it... is that what the Spectrum analyzer and synaesthesia display in gstreamers cvs do ?
