I had a look at your code, and it seems pretty intertwined with the GTK+
widget; i.e. it would be hard to extricate what rb needs :/

Maybe a good approach that would let us share code is just to have a
class or whatever that just parses the file, and lets you connect
callbacks for each entry in a playlist.

I'll see what I can do.
